‘Bad Breath Bandit’ strikes again at Northern California bank, police say

Police can’t say for sure whether the “Bad Breath Bandit” actually suffers from halitosis, but they do know he’s armed and dangerous.

After taking more than a year off from robbing banks, the surgical mask-wearing hold-up artist is at it again, authorities said. Wearing sunglasses and his signature mask, the bandit walked into the El Dorado Savings Bank in Georgetown, Calif., northeast of Sacramento at 12:49 p.m. Monday and demanded cash at gunpoint.

No one was hurt, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

The bandit was last seen driving away in a red Dodge Durango, possibly a 2004 to 2009 model.

Not only does the suspected robber have a habit of wearing surgical or dust masks, but he also appears to be a fan of San Francisco’s sports teams.

Authorities said he has worn Giants and 49ers caps during his robberies.

The Bad Breath Bandit is wanted by the FBI in four other bank robberies in Northern California.

According to the FBI, in most robberies the bandit has approached the teller, flashed a black handgun and placed the cash in a backpack.
