After fatal shooting on BART train, transit company discloses not all security cameras are real

The Oakland Tribune reported Friday that BART Director Gail Murray says some of the cameras are decoys while some are live.
The question arose after police refused to say whether the shooting death of a passenger on a train car Saturday was captured by security cameras. BART has not released any footage of the shooting.
BART police have been investigating the shooting since Saturday night, when a man shot a passenger to death as a San Francisco-bound train rolled into the West Oakland station.
The transit agency has many surveillance cameras on the station platforms and at fare boxes. One of those cameras caught images that police have distributed of the gunman leaving the station. No arrests have been made.
