A headless, limbless body has been found at the foot of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in West Oakland, police said.

The torso was found on rocks before noon Wednesday at the end of Burma Road off Maritime Street, near the foot of the old bridge currently being dismantled, Oakland authorities said.

The torso was found by a pedestrian and appears to belong to a young man, Oakland police told NBC Bay Area. Authorities believe the body washed ashore from the San Francisco Bay and may have been in the water for about a month, the station reported.

Remarkably, this isn’t the first torso to turn up in the Bay Area this year.

In February, the remains of a woman were found in a levee in Fremont. The dismembered body belonged to a woman who was reported missing by her husband – who days later jumped to his death from the Bay Bridge.
