Man’s body found in trunk of car parked at Ontario Mills Mall
The body of a man was found Monday in the trunk of a car parked at Ontario Mills Mall, police said.
Security workers notified police after spotting a “suspicious vehicle parked in the lot” with South Carolina license plates, according to Sgt. Jeff Higbee, spokesman for the Ontario Police Department. A strong odor was also coming from the car.
Officers opened the trunk and discovered the body.
The license plates were registered to a man who was reported missing in South Carolina, Higbee said.
It was unclear Monday whether the body was that of the missing man.

Detectives found no signs of foul play or visible injuries, he said. Investigators believe the death is a possible suicide, Higbee said.
San Bernardino County coroner’s officials were at the scene Monday and examined the car.
