L.A. County sheriff’s deputy shoots, wounds man in Compton
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy shot a man Wednesday evening in Compton, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 5:40 p.m. near Compton and Long Beach boulevards, according to Deputy Amber Smith, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department.
The man struck by gunfire was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Smith said. No deputies were injured.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting or how many bullets the deputy fired, Smith said.
