Orange County authorities arrested a 19-year-old man late Saturday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run the night before in San Juan Capistrano that left a man on a skateboard dead.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Andrew Christopher Michaels was arrested about 9:30 p.m. A department news release said investigators found a Dodge Ram truck that was believed to have been involved in the crash at Michaels’ home in Laguna Niguel earlier in the day.

Michaels was arrested after an interview with investigators, the release said.

The victim, Cesar Medina, 23, was riding his skateboard about 10:10 p.m. near Del Obispo Street and Paseo Carolina when the driver of a faded black pickup hit him, authorities said. The truck was heading east on Del Obispo.
