Labor Day weekend starts with Getaway Day
It’s planes trains and automobiles as Southland residents are heading out of town and hitting the beaches ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend.
In Southern California, San Diego is a top getaway destination. Labor Day travel statewide and in Southern California is projected to be 6% higher this year than in 2012 -- the biggest bump in holiday travel for 2013. Overall, 2.44 million Southern California residents are projected to take trips over the holiday weekend, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.
