A Victorville man who identified himself as a “spiritual healer” was convicted of sexual assault Tuesday.
Jose Romulo Felix, 42, pleaded no contest to rape and sexual battery by fraud in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Norwalk.
Felix had advertised in Spanish newspapers that he was a “spiritual healer” who could solve women’s love issues, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
In January 2013, a woman visited Felix at his office in Norwalk, where she was sexually assaulted. She tried to fight back, but Felix forced himself on her, according to prosecutors.
The victim reported the assault and Felix was arrested less than a month later.
He is expected to be sentenced July 30 to nine years in state prison. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
