Brothers arrested after parents’ bodies found next to note: ‘Sorry, my first kill was clumsy’

Two brothers have been arrested in connection with the slaying of their parents, who were found shot to death inside their San Jose home beside a chilling message.

Police say Hasib Bin Golamrabbi, 22, and his 17-year-old brother are responsible for the deaths of their parents. Hasib Golamrabbi was arrested in Tracy, Calif., and his brother was arrested in San Jose on Wednesday.

The couple’s bodies were discovered about 1:47 p.m. Sunday in their Quimby neighborhood home in the 3000 block of Lucas Court.

Police were called to the home to investigate suspicious circumstances and found Shamima Rabbi, 57, and Golam Rabbi, 59, dead. Each had been shot at least once.

KGO-TV reported that a note was found next to the bodies with the message, “Sorry, my first kill was clumsy.”

Golamrabbi was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder, and his brother was booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder, police said Thursday. There are no other suspects in the case, police said.

The Rabbis were longtime members and volunteers with the South Bay Islamic Assn. and the Evergreen Islamic Center in San Jose.

“We ask Allah to forgive the deceased, shower his mercy on them, and make their graves a garden from paradise,” the association said in a statement.
