5 students struck by a vehicle in Sylmar school parking lot
Five students in Sylmar were injured Tuesday after they were struck by a car while walking in a school parking lot, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. in the 13000 block of Glenoaks Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The parking lot connects Lakeview Charter High School and Triumph Charter Academy, Humphrey said.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision, and one of them “brushed” the group of students, Humphrey said.
The students as well as a 19-year-old woman who was driving one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries. All six people were taken to a hospital.
