Transformer explosion in Santa Monica causes fire
A transformer explosion in Santa Monica caused a fire Thursday night.
Witnesses posted photos on Twitter showing flames coming from the transformer near Montana Avenue and Second Street. Several nearby residents said they heard a loud explosion, then saw the fire.
TV news images showed a large contingent of firefighters on scene.
According to City News Service, four apartments were damaged in the incident. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
