A Highland woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sending photos of herself sexually assaulting her two daughters to a prison inmate’s cellphone, authorities said.
Evelyn Alvarez is being held on $250,000 bail on suspicion of lewd acts on her two young daughters, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The daughters’ ages were not immediately disclosed.
Kern Valley State Prison guards searched inmate Juan Bravo’s cell, where they seized heroin and the cellphone containing photographs of Alvarez allegedly molesting her daughters, authorities said.
Alvarez apparently took the photographs herself, sheriff’s detectives said in a statement.
After the photographs were taken, authorities said they were sent to Bravo, who was hiding the cellphone in his prison cell.
Prison officials called Highland Police Department after discovering the photos.
