Five injured in three-car collision on 110 Freeway in Elysian Park
Five people were injured, including a 4-month-old infant, in a three-car collision in Elysian Park on Saturday.
Authorities received reports of the crash about 6:39 p.m. on the northbound 110 Freeway just south of the 5 Freeway near Dodger Stadium, California Highway Patrol Officer Stephan Brandt said.
Fire crews rescued several people trapped in one of the cars. Four people were taken to the hospital, including an infant who is “fighting for her life,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
A 9-year-old girl, a 23-year-old woman and a 48-year-old woman were all listed in serious condition. A fifth person, a 23-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and is in CHP custody, Humphrey said. Further details were not released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Two lanes of the northbound 110 Freeway were closed, according to the fire department. They were reopened at 9:41 p.m.
