Student tried to rape girl in school bathroom, LAPD says
An 18-year-old high school student was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping with intent to commit rape after police say he forced a girl into a boys’ restroom on campus and started kissing her.
Jose Lares is accused of assaulting the 17-year-old victim at Valley High school, a private continuation school in the North Hills area, the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday afternoon.
He allegedly closed the door and began kissing the girl. “But his actions were interrupted when another student knocked on the door,” the LAPD said in a statement.
The incident allegedly took place Wednesday about 2 p.m. Lares was taken into custody a short while later, police said. He was being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
