A crash on the Antelope Valley Freeway on Saturday night in Palmdale left one person dead and gridlocked traffic.
Officials with the California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on the northbound 14 Freeway at about 8:15 p.m. near Avenue O.
Officer Patrick Kimball of the CHP said a fatality from the crash was confirmed at 9:40 p.m. but did not have any further details.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Kimball said the area was probably still congested because not all lanes of traffic had reopened.
