2 killed and 2 wounded in Oregon shooting; suspect detained
A lone person killed two people and wounded two others on Monday and then fled the scene outside the town of Woodburn, in northwest Oregon, before being captured on an interstate highway east of Portland, a law enforcement official said.
Lt. Chris Baldridge of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was detained without incident by officers of the Oregon State Police.
Law enforcement officers from several departments converged on the scene. Identities of the dead and wounded were not immediately released, and Baldridge said he did not know if the shooter was related to or knew the victims.
“We are very early in the investigation and very few details are available for release at this time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
