Readers React: Court sharply limits presidential power on recess appointments
Republicans have long made it clear they detest judicial activism. So I was stunned by their silence when the Supreme Court ruled against President Obama and decided unilaterally that a period of 10 days must pass before a president can make recess appointments. (“Presidential recess appointments are curbed,” June 27)
Republicans have long held that the courts should interpret the laws and not make them. Apparently, they now feel differently.
