Readers React: End bonuses at the VA

Who are these VA executives, by job title, who are entitled to bonuses for doing their jobs? The veterans they serve did not earn bonuses for doing their gut-wrenching jobs over and over, tour after tour, except perhaps a Purple Heart medal for losing a part or two of their anatomy. (“VA condemned for executive bonuses,” June 21)

We can assume that, as executives, they are very well compensated, able to retire at a relatively young age, with a comfortable defined-benefit pension.

Let’s aspire to Congress nixing any further such bonuses, and providing increased funding to the VA continually as needed, and accounted for.
