Laguna Art Museum holds annual art auction

The Laguna Art Museum hosts its annual art auction fund-raiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 8.

Preview week begins Feb. 3 and the post-auction sale will take place Feb. 9.

More than 100 artists have donated works to be auctioned to support the museum.”The Art of the Heist” is the event’s theme.

With decor based on the 1968 film “The Thomas Crown Affair,” the venue will feature works by Charles Arnoldi, Billy Al Bengston, Tony DeLap, Laddie John Dill and others. Bidding will start at 50% of each piece’s stated value and all proceeds earned during the silent and live auctions will benefit the museum.

Tickets are $125 for museum members at the friend level and above, and $150 for non-members and members at the individual and family levels.

The Laguna Craft Guild will come to the cobblestones on Main Beach Park from 9 a.m. to dusk on Jan. 19.

Admission is free to this exhibition, where local residents display ceramics, glass art, jewelry, paintings and more.

Wells Fargo Bank at 260 Ocean Avenue hosts a community art project from Jan. 17 through March 14.

The display will showcase work by members of West Coast Drawing, a group of artists dedicated to the development of drawing forms.

Admission is free and guests are welcome from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

KX 93.5 is hosting a membership raffle drawing from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 12.

The event will take place at Wine Gallery, 1833 S. Coast Hwy., Suite 110 and attendees who support their local independent radio station will be entered into a raffle to win a $1,600 fitness and travel package.
