CdM falls, 56-50

GARDEN GROVE - Corona del Mar High’s boys basketball team slipped a

notch on Friday, dropping a 56-50 decision to Santa Ana Valley in the La

Quinta Tournament, relegating the Sea Kings to a noon encounter at

today’s final round of play.

Valley stayed outside and hit 10 three-point shots, five by David

Werdel, who led all scorers with 19 points.

Eric Snell led CdM with 16 points, and Charlie Alshuler chipped in

with 12 points.

CdM falls to 1-3.
