The Ocean View High boys’ basketball team opens defense of its Golden

West League title this weekend with a pair of league contests.

The Seahawks launch their league slate Friday (7 p.m.) at Westminster,

then host Servite on Saturday in another 7 p.m. tip-off.

On slate next week is the start of the Sunset League girls’ and boys’

basketball races, as well as the Sunset League girls’ and boys’ soccer

races.

In girls’ basketball, Tuesday’s key opener finds two-time defending

league champion Edison traveling to Huntington Beach. Other games on tap

include Marina hosting Los Alamitos, and Fountain Valley entertaining

talented Esperanza.

In boys’ basketball openers on Wednesday, Huntington Beach travels to

Edison, Fountain Valley is at Esperanza, and defending Sunset champion

Marina visits Los Alamitos.
