On Saturday, the city of Newport Beach’s refuse division will begin
picking up trash twice a week in West Newport Beach. This affects areas
west of Balboa Boulevard between Summit and Main Street. The extra pickup
will continue until Sept. 1, with the exception of July 7, when the
Saturday service will be postponed for a week.
Trash must be placed in a container that does not exceed 35 gallons in
capacity, is not constructed of metal and does not have an attached lid.
In addition, containers may not exceed 50 pounds when filled to capacity.
The use of durable, disposable bags is encouraged. Refuse left in
noncompliant containers will not be collected until placed in either
approved containers or disposable plastic bags. Wheeled containers that
otherwise meet these requirements are acceptable for use. Information:
