of Orange County, California Inc. this month, joining Corona Del Mar

resident Cheri Wechsler, who was installed as the group’s membership

director. . . . Catherine J. Rasch, daughter of Albert and Catherine

Rasch in Costa Mesa, was placed on the honor roll at Bucknell University

in Lewisburg, Penn., for the spring semester of the 2000-01 academic

year. . . . Cindy Barnes, a Corona del Mar resident and former student of

Corona del Mar High School, has completed her education at the University

of San Diego, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and

an emphasis in marketing. . . . Newport Beach advertising firm Lawrence

Mayo & Ponder has promoted employee Barbara Wartman from account

executive to account supervisor, and Renee Craig, also of Newport Beach,

to the position of account executive. . . . The Costa Mesa-based

Strategic HR Services, a human resources outsourcing firm, has hired

Lynnae Allyn to the position of director of business development for the

San Diego area. . . . Koll Construction LP of Newport Beach has promoted

Jeff Dun, a five-year veteran at the company, to the position of reginal

vice president of the Newport Beach office, where he will oversee all

operations from Orange County to San Francisco. . . . Steve and Kaysee

Ferguson of Costa Mesa rode into the winner’s circle of the Strawberry

Sunday Fest and Classic Car Show, winning second best of show with their

1932 Ford Highboy roadster, a trophy and $200. Their fellow Costa Mesan

Casey Patelski received the special Strawberry Award for the best red car

of the 100 entered at the car show. . . . The Peterson Group, a Newport

Beach-based marketing company, has appointed Shawn O’Hearn to its project

manager position. . . . Matthew C. Tobias, son of Joan and Patrick Tobias

in Costa Mesa, has joined the Army under the Delayed Entry Program and

will report for basic training to Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. . . . Lou

Von Dyl of Newport Beach earned top honors at the Strawberry Sunday Fest

and Classic Car Show, winning the best antique car category with his 1931

Chrysler. . . . Travis Ekedal, son of Dave and Sheri Ekedal in Corona del

Mar, has graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor’s

degree in psychology and plans to pursue a career in advertising.
