Cierra Gaytan-Leach has enrolled at Corona del Mar High and will play on the girls’ tennis team, Sea Kings Coach Brian Ricker said Tuesday.

The news ends some suspense over whether she would continue to be home schooled, which she began halfway through her eighth-grade year at Corona del Mar junior high. It also propels the Sea Kings into the tennis elite this year and for years to come.

Gaytan-Leach has long been a tennis star in the junior tournament scene. The 14-year old sophomore is ranked No. 11 in the nation for girls 14 singles and No. 1 in 14 doubles with teammate Tayler Davis of San Jose.

Gaytan-Leach is also ranked No. 1 and No. 14 in the 14 and 16 singles, respectively, in Southern California.
