Public library meetings scheduled for Monday

Two public meetings will take place Monday to discuss the possible relocation of the Newport Beach Public Library’s Corona del Mar branch. City and library officials have proposed moving the library’s adult collection to the Oasis Senior Center, which will be rebuilt, and closing the library facility.

The current plan is to relocate and keep the Corona del Mar library open during the two to three years it should take to build the new Oasis center, then move some library materials there and close the branch.

Officials will answer questions and collect public input at the meetings, which are scheduled at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday. The meeting will be at the Corona del Mar Library, 420 Marigold Ave., Newport Beach. For information call (949) 717-3801.
