COSTA MESA — Freshman Andrew Pizula had a team-high 12 kills for the Pirates in the 30-21, 30-13, 30-25 Pacific Coast Conference sweep Friday at OCC.
Freshman outside hitter Grant Keene had 11 kills and 10 digs for Orange Coast (11-6, 7-3 in conference), while freshman Doug Astor had 31 assists.

PALO ALTO — UC Irvine senior Sky Johnston placed second in his section of the 5,000 meters Friday.
Johnson ran a career-best 14 minutes, 28.04 seconds to finish runner-up to Grand Valley State’s Nick Polk, who recorded a time of 14:26.23.
