Preston Wynne scored 29 points to lead the Lions in the nonconference game against top-ranked Cal State San Marcos Thursday in the Pit.

Keith Mason finished with 14 points and Chris Gorman added 12 points and six assists for No. 10-ranked Vanguard (23-6).

Cal State San Marcos is 28-1.

Jason Johnson connected for the game-winning layup with five seconds left for the visitors.
