Police: Man, 21, reportedly knocked out homeless woman who witnessed him assault his girlfriend
A 21-year-old reputed gang member was arrested Saturday after allegedly knocking a homeless woman unconscious after she witnessed him assault his girlfriend and called the police.
The 65-year-old woman called Glendale police after reportedly seeing Ramon Alberto Carrillo assault his live-in girlfriend on the sidewalk on the 500 block of Irving Avenue, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

When the woman, who has reportedly known the suspect since he was a baby, yelled at him from her car to stop, Carrillo reportedly walked over to her, grabbed her phone and chucked it.
He then tugged on her ear, breaking her earring, before punching her in the face and knocking her out, William said.
She momentarily lost control of her car but was able to safely stop.
Carrillo was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, elder abuse and destruction of a phone while calling 911, William said.
