Police early Wednesday caught a suspected burglar — and are looking for three more — tied to four window-smashing break-ins at Glendale businesses overnight, police said.

About 2:30 a.m., a witness called police after seeing two men in a Mercedes-Benz burglarizing Wok Talk restaurant, located in the 900 block of East Colorado Street, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

An officer later spotted a similar car at a gas station half a mile away. When the officer got out of her patrol car, three men took off running in different directions and a fourth fled in the car, police said.

A pursuit ensued but the officer lost the vehicle about 2 miles away at Los Feliz Boulevard and Seneca Avenue in Los Angeles.

About three hours later, another officer spotted a man at Glendale Avenue and Broadway who matched the description of one of the fleeing men. When the officer went to contact the man, he ran.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was taken into custody after a foot chase.

Authorities suspect the men committed three other burglaries in the area, at least one of which has surveillance footage.

Police didn’t immediately know what was taken from the businesses.

Forensic investigators were collecting evidence Wednesday morning from the crime scenes.

Anyone with information about the burglaries or the men who fled is asked to call Glendale police at (818) 548-4911.
