Parolee, unwelcome at mom’s house, caught making himself at home in nearby apartment
A three-hour search for a wanted parolee seen jumping through backyards came to an end Wednesday afternoon after a Glendale woman found the man hiding in her home, police said.
Just after 11 a.m., another resident called police after reportedly seeing the man — later identified as 30-year-old Francisco Juarez — scaling their backyard fence, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

When police arrived and saw Juarez standing in the driveway of his mother’s home on the 300 block of Allen Avenue — where his mother said he wasn’t welcome — the suspect fled through other backyards.
While officers set up a perimeter and searched the area, Juarez reportedly snuck into a woman’s apartment through an unlocked door, though no one was home.
There, he reportedly used the toilet without flushing, drank water bottles from the refrigerator and ate a mandarin orange, William said.
Before 2:30 p.m., the resident came home and found Juarez crouched behind her front door.
He then surrendered to police, and the woman was unharmed.
Juarez was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, as well as for the outstanding warrant, and is being held without bail.
