Man with autism stabbed after altercation on bus in Glendale
A 30-year-old man with autism was stabbed Saturday afternoon after an altercation on a MTA bus traveling through Glendale, police said.
When the man was getting off the bus, near San Fernando Road and Rosedale Avenue, he reportedly pushed another man’s fiancé, who was with a young child, and told her to get to the back of the bus, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.
The woman reportedly told police she was not upset because she could tell the passenger had special needs.

The Glendale man then ran away, which reportedly prompted the woman’s fiancé, identified as Davon Butler, 21, to chase him.
Once Butler caught up to the man, he allegedly stabbed the victim three times in his back.
The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, William said. Police do not know why he initially pushed the woman.
Butler pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. He is due back in court next month.
