Dodgers outright Stephen Fife to triple-A Oklahoma City
Stephen Fife cleared waivers and was outrighted to triple-A Oklahoma City, the Dodgers announced Monday.
Fife, 28, underwent reconstructive elbow surgery in August, and is expected to miss most, if not all, of next season.
Fife spent most of the season in triple A. He made one start for the Dodgers this season, in Miami on May 4, when he was charged with four runs and seven hits over six innings.
Fife pitched 11 games in triple A, the last of which was on July 18.
The Dodgers promoted him to the major leagues and placed him on the 60-day disabled list as a way to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for left-hander Daniel Coulombe.
Fife has pitched in 18 games for the Dodgers over the last three seasons, including 16 starts. He is 4-6 in his career with a 3.66 earned-run average.
