Or at least the professional one up to age 27.

The Major League Baseball Network is premiering a new show Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time called “My MLB Life,” and first up is Matt Kemp, cover boy and TV star.

It’s a half-hour, documentary-style program on how Kemp chose baseball as his sport and developed into one of the game’s greatest players.

An interesting two-minute excerpt is provided by the MLB Network above.

In the spirit of the new show’s theme of “work hard, live well, give back,” a camera crew followed Kemp to his new house in Paradise Valley, Ariz. as it was being completed, to off-season workouts at Arizona State University and to his hometown in Oklahoma.

There are interviews with several of Kemp’s relatives, including his parents and grandmother, discussing Kemp’s childhood, how he chose baseball over basketball as his main sport, and his initial start in MLB after being drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round in 2003.

The Kemp episode was filmed in December 2011 and May 2012, and also features footage of Kemp as he went through the team’s system.
