Baseball: After 35 years as a Cubs scout, Bob Lofrano goes to the World Series
Former Chatsworth High and Pierce College Coach Bob Lofrano has spent 35 years as a scout for the Chicago Cubs.
He’s finally getting the opportunity to go to a World Series game involving the Cubs.
He’s not the only local product with connections.
Besides two former Hart High pitchers, Trevor Bauer (Indians) and Mike Montgomery (Cubs) and the Cubs’ Kyle Hendricks (Capistrano Valley) playing in the games, the hitting coach for the Indians is Ty Van Burkleo (Chatsworth).
Coco Crisp, an outfielder for the Indians, played for Lofrano at Pierce College.
Mike Borzello, the catching coach for the Cubs, played at Taft High.
