Baseball: San Clemente wins in nine innings over Mission Viejo, 4-3

San Clemente clinched at least a share of the Sea View League championship on Friday, pulling out a 4-3 win over Mission Viejo on a walk-off RBI single by Connor Sealey in the ninth inning.

Lucas Herbert hit another home run for the Tritons, who completed a two-game sweep of Mission Viejo this week.

In the Sunset League, Fountain Valley handed first-place Huntington Beach a rare 7-4 defeat. Pierson Loska hit a grand slam and Willie Aguilar added a two-run home run. Sophomore Travis Burleson won his fourth game since becoming eligible last month. Edison defeated Newport Harbor, 4-2.

In the South Coast League, Dana Hills defeated Capistrano Valley, 3-2, in eight innings.

In the Mission League, Harvard-Westlake defeated Alemany, 4-3. Leo Kaplan had the game-winning RBI in the sixth. Alex McKenna had an RBI triple and a home run for Alemany. Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Loyola, 5-3, in 10 innings to clinch at least a share of the league title. Chaminade defeated Crespi, 5-4, getting a two-run home run from Dallas Tessar. Notre Dame is 9-3. Loyola and Alemany are 7-3 and finish with a two-game series next week.

In the Trinity League, Santa Margarita defeated Orange Lutheran, 5-3, in eight innings. Andrew Mendonca had the game-winning RBI. He and Johnny Carr had two hits each. St. John Bosco defeated Mater Dei, 4-3. Brandon Moore threw a complete game.

In the Moore League, Lakewood defeated Long Beach Poly, 1-0, in 11 innings to clinch the championship. Chris Betts hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with seven RBIs in Long Beach Wilson’s 20-0 win over Compton.

In the Coastal Canyon League, Camarillo defeated Moorpark, 3-1. Ramon Gomez went three for three. Royal defeated Oak Park, 10-1. Kurt Johnson hit a three-run home run.

In the Marmonte League, Agoura defeated Oaks Christian, 4-2. Joey Czarske went two for two. Calabasas defeated Newbury Park, 6-0. John Keller threw a six-hitter and had two hits and two RBI. Greg Cromar added three hits. Daniel Davanzo pitched Westlake past Thousand Oaks, 2-1. Grant Ferguson had two RBIs.

In the Foothill League, Hart stayed in first place with a 12-3 win over Golden Valley. Austin Russ had a two-run home run. Saugus defeated West Ranch, 5-4. Caden Maher threw five shutout innings. Valencia defeated Canyon, 13-3. Cole Kleszcz went four for four with a triple, two home runs and six RBIs. Devin Davis added four hits.

Sierra Canyon defeated Brentwood, 10-0, to clinch the Gold Coast League championship. Christian Hernandez threw a one-hitter. Billy Edwards went three for three. Campbell Hall defeated Viewpoint, 5-0. Freshman Jamis DeKay threw a complete game.

Village Christian finished 12-0 in the Olympic League after a 10-0 win over Heritage Christian. It was the Crusaders’ fifth consecutive shutout. Leading the way has been Chris Davidson, who had an earlier shutout this week against Heritage Christian, 7-0, and threw six-inning shutouts against Whittier Christian and Valley Christian.

In the East Valley League, Verdugo Hills defeated North Hollywood, 2-0. Marco Quintanar struck out seven. Troy Richards went three for three with a home run.

In the Pacific League, Crescenta Valley defeated Burbank, 2-0, behind Brian Gadsby, who threw a shutout. He gave up three hits.
