Boys’ basketball: Alemany improves to 18-3 with rout of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame

Warriors improve to 18-3 with win over SO Notre Dame

Alemany started off a little sluggish but finished the first half with a flourish en route to a 74-52 victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame on Monday night.
The Warriors are 18-3 overall and 7-0 in the Mission League.
Earnest Sears, a 7-foot high jumper, showed off his versatility with a one-handed dunk, followed by a three-point basket. Sears finished with 17 points and six rebounds. DJ McDonald had 18 points and Fred Odhiambo added 16 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Notre Dame played without standout freshman Ziaire Williams, who was held out to rest an injury.
In a Western League game, Fairfax received 30 points from Jamal Hartwell and 14 from Robert McRae in a 77-51 victory over LACES. Dayne Downey scored 30 points in Palisades’ 69-54 win over Hamilton. Westchester defeated Venice, 74-46.
In the East Valley League, Poly defeated North Hollywood, 55-53, in double overtime.
In the Eastern League, David Mixon scored 20 of his 27 points in the second half to help South Gate defeat Garfield, 61-57. South Gate is 5-0 in league.
Calabasas defeated Agoura, 59-52, in overtime. Jack Roggin finished with 16 points.
