Boys’ basketball: Issy Washington memorial service is set for Sunday
A memorial service for Issy Washington, one of the pioneers of the summer club basketball experience, will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Carson Community Center, 801 East Carson Street.
Washington died on Dec. 22 after complications from a stroke. He was 78.
In the 1980s, he was the organizer of the Slam-N-Jam basketball leagues, where young athletes would train and play.
