Boys’ soccer: L.A. Cathedral loses on penalty kicks to No. 1 Montverde
Florida Montverde, having set a national record with 134 consecutive games without losing in soccer, faced one of its toughest matches since 2010 on Friday in a semifinal match at the Montverde tournament.
L.A. Cathedral, one of the best teams from California, battled Montverde to a 0-0 deadlock at the end of regulation.
But Montverde won the battle of penalty kicks, 3-2, to advance to its tournament final.
Montverde is ranked No. 1 in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
