Final transfer figure for 2015-16 in California is 15,882.
There were 15,882 sports transfers of high school students for the 2015-16 school year, according to statistics compiled by the California Interscholastic Federation.
Each of the 10 sections sends its transfer figures to the CIF. The Southern Section had the most transfers at 6,876. The next highest was Sac-Joaquin at 2,284. The City Section had 1,302.
The majority of transfers (more than 5,800) were valid change of residence. Almost 4,000 were sit-out period athletes.
