Football: Blair forfeits game vs. San Marino and ends its season
- Share via
Pasadena Blair (0-5) forfeited its scheduled Rio Hondo League game against San Marino this week and has ended its season for safety reasons, a spokeswoman for the Pasadena Unified School District confirmed on Friday.
According to Monrovia Athletic Director Randy Bell, the school has informed the assigner of officials for the San Gabriel Valley unit to cancel its remaining games.
As of Friday, Bell had not received an official response from Blair about its game scheduled for next week.
Blair has a new athletic director and new football coach. It had scored three points in three games and forfeited the last two games. It was down to 20 players.
This could be the start of more teams forfeiting games as 10-week grades begin to come out and injuries mount. That’s what happened last season.
