Football: Dorsey is reaching peak form
One of the best coaching jobs of the season has been turned in by Charles Mincy, a first-year head coach at Dorsey.
His 10-3 team has improved almost on a weekly basis and now finds itself playing unbeaten Narbonne on Saturday night at El Camino College for the City Section Division I title with a group of young players that suddenly aren’t so young anymore. That makes the Dons very dangerous.
Charles Mincy Jr., Kayvon Thibodeux and Keeshawn Johnson are among an exciting group of sophomores who one day figure to bring a City title back to Dorsey.
There’s also a group of seniors coming through _ quarterback Jerman Gotoy, receivers Jarell Mickens and Elijah Boykin, running back Antwone Williams.
Many of these players lost to Narbonne, 42-0, last season. They have a lot to prove, which should make for an interesting matchup at 7 p.m.
