Football: Loyola wins Santa Fe passing title

Loyola is loaded with outstanding junior players, many of whom put on a show on Saturday in helping the Cubs win the championship of the Santa Fe tournament with a victory over South Hills in the final.
Junior quarterback Tre Polamalu got hot late in the tournament. Junior receivers Jordan Riordan and David Long were outstanding, and junor defensive back Myles Bryant had four interceptions on the day. Junior Daniel Tolbert had a key interception in the semifinals.
Also winning a championship on Saturday was St. Bonaventure, which defeated San Clemente in the El Rancho tournament final.
Quarterback Ricky Town, receiver Darius Vines, tight end Johnny McGill and linebacker Mark Zavala were among the St. Bonaventure standouts.
In the Edison tournament, Hart defeated St. John Bosco in the championship game. Gardena Serra and Santa Margarita also reached the semifinals.
Monrovia won the championship of the SGV Shootout at Arroyo, defeating Buena Park in the final.
