Football: Murrieta Valley offense keeps producing points
San Clemente will be facing a difficult task on Friday night in the Southern Section Division 2 final _ trying to stop the Murrieta Valley scoring machine.
Only once all season has any defense held the Nighthawks (11-2) under 41 points.
The fact former Rancho Verde and Fremont Coach Pete Duffy joined the program as an assistant coach hasn’t hurt.
But it’s about players, and the Nighthawks have plenty.
Sophomore QB Hank Bachmeier has passed for 3,558 yards and 43 touchdowns. Runnng back Olita Palmer has rushed for 2,259 yards and 28 TDs. WR Marquis Spiker has 81 receptions and 23 TDs. Another receiver, Maurice Bell, a Colorado commit, has caught seven touchdowns.
The Tritons better come prepared to score lots of points.
