Football: Venice Coach Angelo Gasca likes his team
Veteran coach likes what he sees
After going 10-3 last season, Venice isn’t in anybody’s conversation as a City Section Division I title contender this season, but Coach Angelo Gasca warns not to forget about the Gondoliers. Yes, there were some key graduations, but lots of new players received varsity experience as backups.
“Nobody knows who they are, but they’re very good,” he said.
Kemontae Dafney, a senior receiver, is supposed to be in the same mode as Gabe Marks.
And junior running back DeJean Parramore should keep Venice’s tradition of producing a top rusher going.
Venice opens its season on Aug. 28 at home against Chaminade.
