Girls’ basketball: Katie Lou Samuelson named WBCA player of the year

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Assn. has named Katie Lou Samuelson of Santa Ana Mater Dei as its player of the year on its All-America team.
The 6-foot-3 Samuelson is averaging 29.3 points and 8.5 rebounds.
She has signed with Connecticut.
