Mater Dei, Thousand Oaks top schools receiving most money for TV, web broadcasts

Santa Ana Mater Dei received $4,215 and Thousand Oaks was paid $3,600 to lead Southern Section schools awarded the most money for having games shown on television or the web during the 2013-14 school year, according to financial information supplied by the Southern Section.

The amount paid to 97 Southern Section schools was $69,545, with the largest portion coming from a contract with Fox Sports West.

Schools that host events shown on TV or the web receive a payment generated through a rights fee charged by the Southern Section.
