Track: Big throw in final youth event for Amir Ali Patterson

It’s on to UCLA for former Crespi shot putter Amir Ali Patterson, who won the Junior Olympics men’s 17-18 12-pound shot put competition in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday with a lifetime best mark of 66 feet, 2 inches.
It was his final youth meet before moving on to the college level.
Patterson was ruled ineligible to compete for Crespi last season as a senior.
