Dillon Gee and Danny Duffy will fill in as starters while Young and Medlen are sidelined.

Alex Rodriguez did light running drills at Yankee Stadium on Thursday as the New York Yankees star keeps working his way back from a strained right hamstring that put him on the 15-day disabled list. The 40-year-old designated hitter went on the disabled list May 4 amid concerns that he might be sidelined longer than the two weeks. General Manager Brian Cashman said the team is “encouraged” by Rodriguez’s progress but that it’s “too early to call” whether he’ll be ready to activated when eligible. ...Left-handed reliever Joe Beimel has agreed to terms with the Miami Marlins and will report to extended spring training pending a physical.
