Update: The Lakers finished last regular season with a 116-108 victory in Sacramento for what was supposed to be the Kings’ final game up north. But Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former NBA point guard, helped keep the Kings in the state capital at least one more season after the franchise considered moving to Anaheim. The Kings are full of youth: guard Marcus Thornton, 24, is the old man of a potentially potent group that includes guard Tyreke Evans, 22, center DeMarcus Cousins, 21, and newcomer Jimmer Fredette, 21.
