Terrell Owens to try out for Seattle Seahawks

Terrell Owens must have done something right.

Maybe that NFL workout that drew no one from the NFL back in October actually left a lasting impression.

Perhaps he caught someone’s eye during his eight games with the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League -- before getting cut from the team and losing his ownership stake.

Maybe it was that heartwarming appearance on “Dr. Phil” that moved someone in the Seattle front office to give T.O. a call.

Or perhaps the Seahawks are just desperate at wide receiver.

Whatever the reason may be, Owens finally has landed the NFL tryout he’s been seeking since recovering from knee surgery last year. He is to work out for the Seahawks during an off-day for the team Monday.

Owens is the league’s second-all-time-leading receiver, but he’s 38 and hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010. He has also burned several bridges in the league.

But the Seahawks signed free agent quarterback Matt Flynn during the off-season and could really use some help at the wide receiver position. Their top receiver from a year ago was Doug Baldwin, who had team highs with 788 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
